July 4th Weekend, Vintage Dresses, & Free Jack & Coke Slushies :-)

July 4th weekend I went to Savannah, GA, with Shannon and her sister. I enjoyed it immensely and hope I can go back soon! Didn't explore as much as I would have liked. Friday we went to Tybee Island to a place called The Crab Shack- if you didn't know it was there you would think you were lost. It's down a little dirt road that looks like it leads to a redneck bait shop. Went to Wet Willie's later that night, where they have 190 PROOF daiquiris... fun times :-). Saturday I got to do some shopping, but unfortunately didn't have time to see the sights. Savannah has 24 city squares, some of which were incorporated into the original city design. And how many did I see? Zero :-P.

Came back on Sunday & spent most of the week doing absolutely nothing. Cooked dinner for Megan, Zack, & Lauren on Tuesday night (or maybe it was Monday, I can't remember), went to the gym, work, etc.

On Friday I went vintage shopping with Shannon (my new Raleigh BFF, haha)! I found two really cute dresses for the D.C., and I can't wait for people to ask me where I got them so I can turn up my nose and say, "Oh, it's vintage" :-D. Drove out to Chapel Hill that night where we had amazing Turkish food at Tallula's, and beers at a pub on Franklin St (can't remember the name).

I tried to make it to Raleigh Downtown Live for Joan Jett this past Saturday, but after circling the general area for an hour looking for a parking spot, got the heads-up from Shannon that they weren't letting anyone else in. Moore Square's capacity is 12,000, and I'm sure they weren't keeping a very good count so there were most likely waaaaay more than 12,000 people there. So we headed over to Ugly Monkey where we somehow ended up with free Jack & Coke slushies. Yum :-).

Monday: Big Boss for delicious beers. Tuesday: DW & I met up with Shannon and the adorable Mr. Mazer at Cameron Village- she deserves mad props for biking there all the way from her house! And tonight is meeting/Moonlight.

So now you're caught up :-).
